3 Things to Look for in Sunglasses
- Posted on: Apr 15 2017
Spring is here and depending on the region of the country you live in, that means you can kiss cold weather goodbye for the next six months or so. With the warm spring weather comes changes in your wardrobe and the need to shield your eyes from the sun with a brand new pair of sunglasses. Before you run to the store to buy some shades, however, it’s important to know what things to look for. From UVA lenses to full protection, this article will discuss three things that you should look for when you are buying sunglasses. Read on to learn more.
UVA/UVB Protection
If the sunglasses that you are looking to buy don’t have a UVA/UVB protection sticker on them, then they likely don’t have it. And, as your eyes number one defense from the sun, this sort of protection works at the deepest layers to protect your eyes from getting damaged.
Dark Lenses
The good news is that reflective, metallic lenses are popular right now, which means that they will add an extra layer of protection between your eyes and the sun. If you go to the store and fall in love with a pair of shades that have light colored lenses, however, try to find some that are darker. Remember that the lighter your shades are, the less protection you are likely to receive.
Full Protection
Big, oversized sunglasses don’t just make a great fashion statement. In fact, because large sunglasses cover more of your face, they offer you more protection. When looking for new sunglasses try them on and make sure they not only cover your eyes but your eyebrows and underneath your eyes as well.
