How to Take Care of your Eyes Naturally

If you are the type of person who watches what you put into your body and what you put on your body, then this article is just the thing for you. With so many all-natural methods out there, we thought it would be fun to write about a few all-natural ways that you can take care of your vision.

Eat Right

Eating right is the green juice diet for your eyes. What you eat not only has an impact on your waistline, but it can affect every part of your body, including your vision. Try eating a diet that consists of a lot of whole foods and less processed sugar. If you can, try to get in at least five servings daily of fruits and vegetables.

Take Regular Breaks from the computer

If there is one trend right now in optometry, it’s blue light eyeglasses. Although they can help to reduce the glare, taking regular breaks from your computer screen is probably going to be better on your vision. Try practicing the 20-20-20 rule that we have mentioned before, which includes looking 20 feet away for 20 seconds at a time every 20 minutes. This consistent break will save your vision and prevent you from getting things like headaches.

Know Your Family History

You may not have liked to listen to your dad ramble about your family history when you were a kid, but as an adult, it’s good to know some of the things especially when it pertains to your health. Because cataracts, diabetes, and glaucoma can be genetic, it’s good to know if you have a family history of them because then you can keep a closer eye (literally) on your eyes.
