Slayt W. Ebeling, O.D.

Dr. Slayt Ebeling is a Therapeutic Optometrist originally from Georgetown, Texas. He graduated with honors in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, he spent a year working for a Christian sports and adventure camp in Arkansas before starting optometry school.
Dr. Ebeling graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston-College of Optometry. He completed his first externship at Eye Center of Texas, providing medical-based eye care in an Ophthalmology/Optometry setting. He became proficient in treating eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma as well as managing pre-operative and post-operative cataract and LASIK patients. His second rotation was at Space Center Eye Associates with a renowned contact lens specialist and former Optometrist to NASA astronauts. He fit and evaluated specialty contact lenses for corneal anomalies such as keratoconus, corneal transplants, and post-refractive surgery ectasia. During his third externship at the University of Houston, he rotated through several clinics that specialized in treating severe dry eye, binocular vision abnormalities, and neuro-ophthalmology. He received numerous clinical letters of excellence and was selected as a teaching assistant during his time in Optometry school.
In his free time enjoys going to the lake with his wife, fishing, playing racquetball, watching A&M football and Dallas Mavericks basketball. He volunteers at Brother Bill’s Helping Hand providing eye exams to the residents in West Dallas. Dr. Ebeling enjoys time spent with patients—getting to know them not only as a patient but also as a person.
